I believe this is a new market for the site, Spokane WA. I was here in July and August 2012 for a summer program, and it was the market where I first got serious about recording airchecks. As I’ve mentioned before, I was mainly focusing on getting legal IDs at the time, and Tophour’s Bill Harms had been through the market the previous November, so there shouldn’t have been a lot to update. There was actually quite a bit to update though, as iHeart Media made major cuts to their cluster in the market that November, and the debut of a new CHR of theirs triggered changes at the existing station. Unfortunately, I didn’t get much from that station as my recorder died in the middle of recording another clip of this station, so you won’t be hearing it here. You will hear the already existing CHR, which still exists today at some point on this site. This station’s legal didn’t actually need to be updated, my goal here was to get a better quality recording, as the one Bill got had lots of distortion. As you can hear though, they kicked off a mix show at the top of this hour. Next week, you will hear my next attempt to get a better quality recording of the existing legal.
