KUBE January 14, 2014

First off, sorry this post is a day late. On Thursday evening, I took my Pin Art apart because one of its pins came out. If you’re not careful which I wasn’t, all the pins come out and need to be put back in, which while not difficult to do, takes all day since there are so many of them.

So, with that out of the way, on to this week’s aircheck. One of the things I attempted to do when I recorded frequently was record heritage stations which I could not find much tape on. KUBE, which had been in its format for 30+ years by this point, was one such station. I knew some tape existed, but perhaps unrealistically, I felt at the time like a station having been on the air that long should have as much tape available as New York’s Z100, and KUBE was, and I suspect still is, nowhere close to that level of historical preservation. I don’t really have a good way to judge how much is available for what stations anymore since the site I used back when I recorded this clip isn’t around anymore. So, one day in January 2014, I decided to record this clip. As most of this is the Old School Lunch, I recorded another aircheck of the station a month later in regular programming, which you will hear next week.
