This is the last aircheck of KKRZ from when I was here for school in 2014-15. It also represents the last of my old philosophy when it came to this station, and the last recording using the equipment you hear in this aircheck, though you’ve heard this before and you’ll hear it again if you have followed me for any length of time. When I recorded this huge set of airchecks, as I’ve said before, my thought process was to record as much of the station as possible in order to make some kind of a dent in the dominance of New York whenever the name Z100 is brought up. I actually don’t have any New York in my collection. Now though, I have found that everyone has a slightly different collection. Some airchecks overlap, and some only exist in a few collections, so maybe someone has more Portland than is being let on. I’ve noticed that Portland in general has very little online, especially from modern stuff.
That said, if you’re tired of KKRZ, we’re not quite done yet. Next week, we’ll hear the station in March 2024, and the week after that we’ll hear an aircheck that as of this writing hasn’t even been recorded yet.
