Today, we return to a market we haven’t visited in a while, Detroit. WYCD has been in the country format for decades, yet like a lot of country stations, there isn’t much tape on it. This was still around the time I was trying to get as much tape on heritage stations as possible. It would be actually interesting to pull everything together and see how much tape actually exists on certain stations, but I suspect that would be impossible to do. I’ve often had dreams of going back in time and having every known aircheck in existence recorded with the same equipment and then posting them online somewhere. Now that would be a heck of a website! Since that’s not possible at least right now, all we have is what we know has been recorded, which is this.
